Yes - we are here...

Sorry we have been out of touch - we have been crazy busy and also have limited internet access in the campervan.

Friday morning we expected the movers at 8.30/9am and they arrived at 7.30am! Nice! we were not able to move into the brn as it had half a roof and no cladding on the outside so I hired a campervan for a week. So we packed up the cats, well initially we locked them into the bedroom and had already moved out all the furniture from there, and packed our week long bags.

The movers left three hours later and George went with them to drop the plants at the farm and the rest into the storage place in Helensville. I went and collected the campervan and then packed it. It holds so much stuff. We have a weeks worth of clothes, and could easily fit more. It has a place to hand coats etc, and a good size fridge, and lots of kitchen cupboards - so I fitted everything in just fine.

Then I put the cats in the cages and into the van and drove to our new home. The old place was about to be cleaned as I left and it wasn't sad to leave like we thought it may be. We realised all the things and the cats and each other is what we like about home, not the actual building.

Parked the campervan behind the barn out of the view of the snotty neighbour and the plumber, drain layer, electrician were all there as well as Econobuilt trying to finish the roof.

George and I went to collect my car and I went from the shore (Campervan place) to Wendi's place and collected Garbo and the rest of my stuff there, and off we headed to Garbo's new home. We arrived about two hours beofre dark I guess and I popped him into the paddock where the other two boys were. He was pleased to have some playmates and some room to run around in..... gathered by the thundering of hooves most of the first night!

We hooked up the power to the campervan and apart from the afct we are not hooked up to water, and we have parked on a bit of a slope so the water doesn't drain from the shower very well - it's actually really cool and we are quite enjoying our little camping advanture.

I will post some photos from work I think later this week as the vodem on this laptop in the van is quite slow and I don't want to use up all George's monthly usage!

It's got a TV and DVD and grill and hob, rangehood, two double beds, a table, sink...loo and shower. We are trying not to use the loo - going out to cafes etc so we don't have to empty it too often.

Today we had some trees planted and over the weekend George put up some internal plywood and aqualine in the bathroom. Today the sparkys came and installed all the lights so we are getting closer.

The roofer that was supposed to come today and do the exterior cladding and finish the roof, he fell off a roof and is in hospital so he couldn't come to ours... they hope he will be ok on Thursday.

Cats are getting braver - now they can look out the window in the day time and don't seem so scared as they were initially of the horses!! Think they thought they were creatures from space.

Oh - and the mud is all dry - yay we have free draining soil!!!! Yipee
