Helensville A & P Show

The weather was awesome this year and there were so many people there....

My friend had her horse in for the Sport Horse Ring - actually two of her horses, one won reserve champion.

Far too hot to be doing things like wood chopping!

Float rescue

On the way tonreakfast ghost morning in Kumeu, we noticed a float and car on the side of the highway with two horses on board. On the way home they were still there so we stopped and offered to tow the float and horses home for them.

The lady was speechless but accepted and off we went to Coatesville. At her place I met her youngster Harrison - he was very sweet. She had a really nice round pen too.

We are going to keep in touch and go for a ride. Her horses are barefoot too and her horses both had rope halters and long lead ropes ;-) - they were very calm too considering there were huge trucks speeding past rocking the float.

Cupcakes

I made some chocolate cupcakes today!!

The chocolate button on top is from Bennetts Chocolates!

Also used free range eggs and organic cocoa powder, organic sugar and dairy free butter - they are yummy (for all you cynics out there)....

Doorstop

Got this cute door stop from Whitianga the other day.

Mangawhai and Matakana

We took Jean and John to Matakana markets this morning and we got some yummy fresh produce there, had a coffee, and a crepe, and then we decided to go to Snells Beach - which wasn't really much so we then headed up to Mangawhai.

I had read a magazine article about Bennetts of Mangawhai (chocolate shop and cafe) but I didn't expect anything as nice as this.

It's a gorgeous Italian looking building with a beautiful courtyard and off the courtyard is a lovely cafe where we had some lunch

- I had watercress and potato soup with crusty bread and the others had a tuna and rocket sandwich with pide bread.

After that we shopped in the amazing chocolate shop and then had an icecream from the Gelato shop!!

Then when we got home Jean helped me poo pick (again) then she and John made us some lovely dinner - we were very spoiled.

Sadly they are going home very early tomorrow with George (he is flying their flight home).... so they are all in bed while I am blogging.
