We collected the Building Consent and Resource Consent at 4pm... yay... but first some background.....because as you know, nothing is simple with the council.
Ian hadn't called by lunch so I left a message for him - and shock horror - he called back at 12.45. He said the Resource Consent would be ready at 2.30pm for me to collect. I said what about the Building Consent. He said Oh I wasn't doing that - I'll check and call you back. 15 minutes later he called back to say the Building Consent was on Anams desk ready to sign off but there was a lot of admin to be done after that.
I emailed Lloyd, he didn't reply, so I called and he was on leave (of course), so I got his PA, and told her I needed it by 3pm.
I headed home to collect George at 2pm and we went to Helensville for lunch and Anam called saying that he noticed there was what looked like a commercial building, and how many people did I employ. I said none and told him it was for me to work from home on my internet based business.
Then he asked about the lunch room and said is it more like a rumpus room? I said yes, well I do yoga at lunch time (lol) and he said ok so if I cross out lunch room and put rumpus room is that ok? I told him he could call it the yoga room if he liked. George was sniggering in the background.
So then he said ok I should have it ready (even though it's short notice) by 4pm. I had to bite my tongue and say thank you.
We arrived to find they had added invoices of $2000 which had to be paid before we could have it! On top of the $2000 we had already paid. Bloody rip off...but at this stage we are just like WHATEVER just give us the friggin thing!
