Rain - had enough now

We have no gutters yet and the yards are not finished. It can rain after that!

Today has been rain most of the day - one of those horrid warm fronts that mean gluggy slow rain all day - just as well we have free draining soil, is all I can say!

In the weekend we;
  • did some more lining with ply in the utility room, tack room, and gib aqualine in the bathroom.
  • George stuck insulation in the exterior walls
  • Plastered the gib
  • I painted it today so that they can install the tub and loo tomorrow.
  • Swept all the dust and mud and plaster dust up
  • Moved the hay again (and the mice).
  • Moved about a third of our stuff from storage
  • Set up the bed
  • Hung the utility room curtains

Didn't get to pick up any poos in the centre paddock so it's getting a bit dire!

The yards are finished -well apart from the gates and fill.

The battons are all on.

This is the workshop with our very organised (numbered) boxes.

The utility room on Friday....

and then Saturday....

This was what I woke up to on Thursday morning - yuk.

On Saturday I booked us a table at the local restaurant we hadn't tried - called Porcini Cafe. We arrived at 8.30pm and Jools and Mary were there with some others so we joined our table to theirs. The food was very yummy. We had tuna steak and rhubarb and apple crumble for dessert.

Apart from the fact we are in the campervan and it's on a lean - we are really enjoying living out here and not having to deal with traffic and hustle and bustle. The people in Helensville are really cruisy and friendly - we are really loving it. No street lights so it's really dark at night. Very cool. Except you need a torch to open the gate.
