Well - we got 17mm on Easter Monday and 3mm the following day - and guess what - the tank filled completely and overflowed into the spare! It's great - it means we survived a drought (they are saying a 1 in 40 year drought) without buying water - which is really awesome.
The grass could still do with some more rain but we managed to get Tim round to spray some more seaweed - he was surprised we got so much rain as everywhere else seemed to miss out and only got about 5mm.
He was especially impressed with how good (and green) our paddocks looked (having been constantly grazed throughout the drought) compared to the dairy farm next door which has not had cows on it since January. You can see the difference in colour and in the amount of grass. (Their paddock is to the left of the fence).
We drove up to Bennetts Cafe in Mangawhai for brunch yesterday - very yummy like usual. It's such a nice drive - it takes about an hour but so worth it.
The horses have been enjoying munching on grass instead of only hay for a change.

Those paddocks are in such good nick. I think it has a lot to do with the pooper scoopering and the rain has helped.
Glad you had a great time at Mangawhai, shame you didn't have our company lol
Yeah the seaweed, the poo picking and weeding all helps hey. We missed you at brunch!
